Hills and Springfield School (HSS) is a nurturing early years learning environment dedicated to providing high-quality childcare and education. Founded in 2021, the school focuses on creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere where every child can learn, grow, and thrive. Through a blend of modern educational technology, evidence-based teaching practices, and caring guidance, HSS prepares children for confident entry into lifelong learning.

Every morning I have the pleasure of opening up the school doors to welcome the children, and I am always struck by how happy and excited they are to be here. Hills and Springfield School Directors and Our dedicated staff rise to the challenge of selecting the most suitable techniques, systems and teaching strategies that will provide a substantial foundation for our students. Our continued excellence is reflected in our ability to adapt, amend and transform to ensure a vibrant learning space in which our student florish. Founder/CEO Mr. E .Koomson
Meet Our Founder
Ernest Koomson began his education at St. Martin de Porres Preparatory School and continued at Aggrey Memorial Zion Secondary School. In March 1998 he moved to the United Kingdom, where he completed an Access course at Waltham Forest College and then progressed to the University of East London to pursue a degree in Computing for Business.
Drawing on his academic training in computing and business, Mr. Koomson developed a strong interest in how technology can support learning and effective school management. He has combined this technical and commercial understanding with a deep commitment to early years education, which led him to found Hills and Springfield School (HSS) in January 2021. HSS opened shortly after the COVID-19 lockdowns with 17 students and a mission to provide high-quality, inclusive childcare and education.
Mr. Koomson is known for a practical, student-centered leadership style that emphasizes safety, respect, and inclusivity. His vision for HSS focuses on preparing children for lifelong learning by integrating high-spec educational technologies with evidence-based teaching materials and warm, supportive care. He is also committed to building strong relationships with families and the local community to support each child’s development.
